Measures 2 inches by 5 3 4 inches. Pale green silk, printed in black and red (large red dot). Bookmark. Frayed at the top edge and almost torn all the way through. Creased at the bottom edge. Uneven fading. The 24th NY Infantry, an Oswego County regiment, was mustered in July 2, 1861 in Elmira, NY and out on May 29, 1863. They were then transferred to the 76th NY Volunteers (very active at Gettysburg). The original unit engaged at Rappahanock and the Second Battle of Bull Run (where they lost 237 men killed, wounded or missing). They were also active at Antietam and Fredericksburg.
