204pp. Original decorative cloth stamped in green, maroon and yellow, "signed" by the designer with the capital initial "H" in the lower left corner, top edge gilt. This copy boldly signed and inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper. Also inscribed in the author's hand on the front panel of the dust jacket to the recipient. Two newspaper clipping portraits of the author laid in. This work is a collection of his poetry. Rexford was an immensely popular and prolific Wisconsin author who wrote many books on gardening, poems and Christian hymns. One of his most popular hymns was, "A Sinner Saved by Grace". He also wrote "Silver Threads Among the Gold", a very popular tune in its day which has since been recorded by Bing Crosby, among others. In fact, this song was one of the first to ever be recorded mechanically. This book is quite scarce in any edition. As a signed copy in the original dust jacket , this copy is a premium for the collector who specializes in books signed by hymnists or by those who were instrumental in the history of recorded music. The corners are gently turned in (I can't really call them "bumped"). Several pages dog-eared. The jacket is browned, with a few small stains, and is edgeworn. The jacket is split down the front joint about two inches from the top. Size: 12mo - over 6" - 7" tall
