This edition limited to 250 copies (50 numbered in Roman numerals, the other 200 numbered 1-200 and "signed" by the author with his initials). Illustrated. An odd vanity press book. This is a collection of 37 musings (sometimes irreverent) of the author on various people and places, some of the subjects have more than one engraving associated with them. Includes (but not limited to) Rodin, Marx, Goethe, J.P. Morgan, Beethoven, Brahms, Gladstone, Pascal, Nietzsche, Voltaire, Mt. Vesuvius, Niagara River, Newton, Galileo, Jefferson, Hamilton, Lincoln, Woodrow Wilson, Coolidge, and his grandfather John Henry Munro. The author was a prominent businessman in Montreal and was originally from Baldwinsville, NY. Extremities lightly rubbed. Minor wear at the joints. This copy has the owners name in gilt on the lower corner of the front cover. One page autographed letter signed by the author laid in, addressed to Reuben Jeffrey of Onondaga Valley (Syracuse), NY (dated October 15, 1936). He starts the letter saying, "I do not know if this affair has been known to you or not. I hope you (undecipherable) will get the odd laugh out of it." Size: 4to - over 9" - 12" tall
