Facsimile Manuscript Regarding Bunker Hill to William Strahan, Originally Dated July 5, 1775

By: Franklin, Benjamin

Price: $12.00

Quantity: 1 available

Book Condition: Very Good

Folio sheet. Written on the occasion of the Battle of Bunker Hill. Franklin wrote a short, pointed letter stating, "You are...one of that majority which has doomed my Country to Destruction--You have begun to burn our Towns and murder our People--". The original was never sent to Strahan, but Franklin did use this in printed propaganda thereafter. The USPS decided to reproduce an enlarged Scott #1 postage stamp (which features Franklin) at the head of the document. A nice display piece. Some creasing.
