Illustrated, including some in color by Howard Pyle and Elizabeth Shippen Green. The usual short stories, essays and poems. Notable for its two part serial, "Extract from Captain Stormfield's Visit to Heaven" by Mark Twain. Also William H. Pickering's "Different Explanations of the Canals of Mars" and "The Anglo-American Polar Expedition" by Vilhjalmr Stefansson (ethnologist). Extemities rubbed but not rubbed through. A very attractive copy bound in an exceptionally sturdy binding. Size: 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall
