138pp. Original maroon cloth with lettering stamped in gilt. Illustrated with plates by Herb Roth, E.H. Miner, Dan Smith, George Burroughs Torrey, Samuel Cahan, Harry Stoner, C.W. Kahles, Will Simmons, Ben Kutcher, Lee Conrey, C.F. Peters, Jo Lemon, S. Wendell Mitchell, H. Gurnee, Mildred Gatlin, Archie Gunn, Ann Brockman, F.W. Read, Gordon Ross, Edward F. Foley (photographic plate). Alfred Jackson (signed by the artist boldly across the bottom of the illustration), and C.H. de Lugo. In addition to the Jackson signature, the poem by Arthur E. Stahlschmidt ("The Song of the Deep") is signed at the bottom in pencil. Stahlschmidt was on the Board of Governors of the club. And there is a handwritten poem by Carter S. Cole (What Makes This Life on Earth Worthwhile?)inscribed in pencil and signed "C.S.C.". The Pleiades Club was founded in the late 19th century by a group of authors to support the starving artists (both literary and otherwise) in Greenwich Village. It was officially incorporated in 1902. These year books were published in conjunction with their annual dinner. According to the official statement of limitation, one of 600 unnumbered copies. Corners bumped. Some minor staining to the cloth. Size: 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall
