168pp. Original blue cloth, title stamped in gilt on the front cover. Illustrated. An interesting Zionist publication for a fund designated to re-establish a Jewish state. Details contributions to Zionism in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Galveston, Ft. Worth, Waco, Tyler, Corpus Christi, Lubbock, Oklahoma City, New Orleans and elsewhere. Ludwig Lewisohn contributed an essay called "An Instrument of National Salvation." There are two essays on Zionism in Texas as well as an essay on the effort to establish a colony called Nachlath Texas in Palestine. Incidentally, The Handbook of Texas contains a very good article on the role of Jews in the founding of Texas (I:912), something I was not aware of until researching this title. Corners bumped. Rubbed at the extremities, but not rubbed through. Corners bumped and rubbed, spine ends rubbed. The book is not rubbed through.

A fascinating book, containing color photos of the church's stained glass windows, which were designed by Tom Lea. A fascinating and fairly uncommon Texas small press item. Hertzog was a pioneer of Texas fine printing, along with Tom Lea. They first met in 1937 and collaborated on many projects. This work is a piece that Hertzog designed for his own church. Corners gently bumped. Gift inscription on the front free endpaper. Front cover unevenly sunned. Size: 4to - over 9" - 12" tall
