1 Maverick Jim's Runko Race Game
Long Island City Einson-Freeman Co. 1934 Original Wraps Very Good No Jacket Ephemera 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall
Folio sheet, folds to an 8vo. Complete with the spinner and the original mailer. Advertising premium for Runko with malt (no doubt a competitor to "rich chocalatey Ovaltine"). I doubt that the game is complete (no game pieces) but it is still a good example of a radio premium from the time. The spinner says (in part) "Those boys and girls who add RUNKO to milk every day to make them strong and healthy, are the ones who have the strength and vitality to win in school, in sport, in business and social life." Maverick Jim was an old-time radio show starring Artells Dickson (starred as Tom Mix for NBC). Very little is known about the show, according to Jim Cox's book "Radio Crime Fighters" (page 173) and there are no episodes extant. Consequently, this premium is quite scarce. Folds. Some minor soil to the verso of the game sheet. Stamp removed from the original mailer.
