2 Imperial Stamp Album
NY Scott Stamp & Coin Co. 1919 Original Cloth Good No Jacket 8vo - over 7 - 9" tall
120pp. + 1pp. index + 22pp. ads. Original green cloth stamped in blind and black. Ownership inscription on the front free endpaper. Corners bumped. Some faint staining to the cloth. Used stamp album with many missing (many hinge remnants throughout). Several stamps have been torn out so that there are holes in several leaves. There are probably about a dozen stamps from various countries glued in (I don't make the news, I just report it). They aren't high value stamps; perhaps the highest is the Scott #R173. But their value will be further damaged by being glued in. That being said, this is an interesting example of an early postage stamp album and the ads are very interesting.

14 Prentiss, Elizabeth Little Lou's Sayings and Doings
NY Hurd & Houghton 1868 First Edition Original Decorative Boards Very Good No Jacket 8vo - over 7 - 9" tall M.L. Stone
287pp. Original blue cloth stamped with blind rule and gilt lettering and decoration. Illustrated. Interestingly, there is a list of rules, handwritten, for the local rental library tipped on to the front pastedown and dated Jan. 20, 1881. The rental library was located in Farmer Village, NY (today's Interlaken, NY in the Finger Lakes region, Seneca County). The book is identified as No. 15 and its value assessed at 90 cents. The rules are signed by A.C. Bennett and bears the local postmark with the Jan. 20, 1881 date stamped at the bottom as well as a solid five point star (probably the cancel). The same cancel and postmark is seen with the manuscript "No. 15" on the back pastedown. Perhaps the rental library was located in the post office? An interesting piece of postal history and Americana. Spine ends a bit frayed. Corners bumped and rubbed through. Two tears in the face of the backstrip (closed tears). Occasional smudging in the margins of the text.

15 Quackenbush, Louis G. (ed.) The Philatelic Gazette, Vol. III, No. 12, August 1913
NY J.M. Bartels Co. 1913 Original Printed Wraps Very Good No Jacket 8vo - over 7 - 9" tall
Pagination runs from page 246-264 (including the printed wraps). Original blue printed wraps. Illustrated in text with small cuts. The publisher was inducted into the American Philatelic Hall of Fame in 1946. The address given for the publisher is 99 Nassau Street, a street which is very significant in the history of philately for all of the stamp dealers which were once located there, especially after World War Two. Articles on Bulgaria, the so-called Venezuela 50 cent error, The Story of the House of Nesbit, postal history of Tuscumbia, AL, Proof from the Albums of 1902, Exhibition News and the usual advertisements. This publication is quite scarce. A search of OCLC Worldcat reveals several offprints of various articles from this magazine, but no copies, annual bound volumes or individual numbers. A search online turns up the nefarious print on demand copies of various annual volumes. Minor discoloration to the front wrap, along with some creasing to the same. The back wrap has a chip at the bottom corner. No previous ownership inscriptions.
