251pp. First published in 1856. Bound in original buckram, decoratively stamped in blind, title stamped in gilt, yellow endpapers. Titcomb was a pseudonym for J.G. Holland (see DAB IX:147ff.). Typical 19th century moralizing for children and youth. Spine a bit faded. Corners bumped and rubbed, two corners rubbed through at the tips. Spine ends worn. Ownership inscription on the front free endpaper. Nicely printed with a red rule bordering the text throughout. A presentable copy.
